Alan came to digital photography with a degree in graphic arts, composition and design and as the former owner of a graphic arts company.
"Alan was one of the most influential mentors I've had in my life. He was a fantastic teacher. One of my favorite things about him was how he encouraged me to find my inner artist. He gave me the tools to find what I wanted to express and taught me what I needed to grow into that. The lessons that he taught me stick with me to this day” –20-year-old photography student

Bill Psolka is a professional architectural and portrait photographer with over 25 years of experience. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Cooper Union in New York and a Master’s degree in Photography from Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts.
Bill began his career photographing people, developing a deep appreciation for the art of lighting—particularly in portraiture, where he often incorporates vintage portrait lighting techniques to create timeless, expressive images. His passion for lighting also led him to explore architectural and interior photography, where he brings a strong sense of form, composition, and visual storytelling.
Since 2009, Bill has been an adjunct instructor at Middlesex College where he teaches courses such as “Commercial Photography”, “Studio Photography” along with other basic and advanced classes. He emphasizes both technical precision and creative development, and brings a core philosophy into the classroom: that with thoughtful control of lighting, any subject—human or structural—can be illuminated in a way that reveals its unique beauty.
His clients have included MetLife, the American Cancer Society, consumer and trade publications, as well as builders, architects, and other commercial and private clients.
