Part 1: Elements of a Stunning Landscape Image
In our live, fully interactive virtual classroom
We'll investigate using light and weather to make compelling landscape photos, identifying good light and recognizing it when we see it, Composing order from chaos to make captivating photos of intimate forest scenes and creating landscape photos that convey to the viewer the experience that moved you to take the picture in the first place.
Part 2: Stockton-On-The-Delaware Photo Shoot
Stockton, NJ
Get ready for an adventure! We begin our class just before sunrise, because some of the most rewarding light is likely to occur from just before sunrise to two hours after sunrise. We'll start by identifying the conditions we are given this morning, potentially finding unique opportunities in light rain and fog, then discuss ways to maximize our likelihood of capturing striking photos, including decisions about elements of composition and exposure to make the best photos possible. As the day advances, our focus will shift from the bigger landscape to intimate details. You will leave with a stronger grasp of landscape photography and a group of unique images for your portfolio.
"I never really understood why people made such a fuss about the time of day and light conditions. You are the first and only person that explained it in a way that made sense to me. Bravo!."
"I especially enjoyed your approach to teaching "good light". Too often we hear "look for the good light" with little explanation of what it is, how to find it, and how to put yourself in position to use it.”
“(Greg) is very easy to communicate with and is so willing to share his knowledge of how to improve your photography and make great photos. An inspiration for me.”
