Richard Sherman is a professional photographer whose work captures the peace and tranquility of nature through clean, uncluttered composition and the use of space and light to depict the opportunities that nature offers. His photographs, from serene landscapes and seascapes to dramatic black and white images and beautiful color abstracts, provide a visual escape, a refuge from the stress and chaos of modern life. Richard’s images often feature water elements and he is perhaps best known for his sailing images and “Boats at Rest” portfolio.
Richard is a Navy veteran whose photography business operates a certified Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB). He is a member of the North American Nature Photography Association, the American Schooner Association, the Amateur Astronomers Association of Princeton, and the Philadelphia Photo Arts Center and was named one of the “Best of the Best” Emerging Fine Art Photographers of 2014 by BWGallerist. His artwork has been purchased by various healthcare and hospitality companies, and is displayed in VA hospitals throughout the country.
When not behind the lens, Richard can often be found walking his three dogs with his wife, Jennifer, around the Princeton area

"Rich made sure he spent time with each participant reviewing their images and making suggestions. He brought various props for our use. He also made suggestions about camera settings and composition. A handout was given out detailing how to handle various weather and lighting conditions. The wrap up included some thoughts on cropping and post production and he passed around a couple of books that he recommends. Rich's style was personable, humorous and friendly and he did a good job of assessing people's level of experience to help them get the most out of the day." Nancy

"Rich is an excellent instructor. He is organized, clear, and knowledgeable...down to earth and encouraging to those of us who are still working out the basics." Mary
